Foil Drive External Antenna
The Foil Drive External Antenna allows for the placement of a secondary antenna on the top of the board, improving signal strength and connection with Gen2 Assist MAX and Assist Slim systems.
Note: All antennas come with foam padding to raise the Nose Cone by 2 mm.
The patent-pending signal attenuation technology has been developed in collaboration with a highly specialized team of international engineers who design wireless communication systems for nuclear power plants! This is not just a regular wire or an off-the-shelf antenna!
Who needs it?
The antenna is primarily designed for use with boards that have full carbon foil tracks laminated into a full carbon construction. The standard built-in antenna in Foil Drive Gen2 works excellently for most uses, but carbon tracks and certain carbon constructions may make it more difficult for the signal to reliably pass through the board.
Before deciding if you need an external antenna for your setup, we recommend watching the video "How To Improve Controller Signal Connectivity Masterclass" on our YouTube channel for more information.
How does it work?
The External Antenna is a thin 2 mm plate that is installed between the electronics box and the board, with a thin cable running along the underside of the board to a small antenna plate mounted on the top side.
The cable is available in 130 cm or 180 cm lengths and is completely passive, requiring no power or direct connection to the Foil Drive electronics box.

The External Antenna can be permanently installed on your board and left in place, even when not using the Foil Drive system.
Compatibility & Installation
Compatibility & InstallationThe External Antenna is not compatible with Foil Drive Gen1 Assist or Assist PLUS.For some boards with standard or deep tracks, using the 2 mm thick External Antenna may require longer mast plate bolts:85 mm bolts for Assist MAX
65 mm bolts for Assist Slim
Carefully measure the required bolt length to ensure a secure fit into the T-nuts. Using the correct bolts prevents damage to the board, Foil Drive unit, or foil mast.Refer to the "How-To" video for detailed installation instructions.
